Hello my friend!

Welcome to my website! My name is Zoe Goldstein, an NYC based artist.

I was born and raised in sunny San Diego, California, and have been performing on stage since I was 7 years old. By the time I turned 18, I had found myself in over 30 musicals, plays, and staged readings. Growing up in the performance world, I knew from an early age that storytelling was how I wanted to spend my life.

It was decided! I would get my BFA in Musical Theatre from Texas Christian University, a school I fell in love with. I am forever a Horned Frog and am so grateful for my well-rounded education.

After moving to NYC, I came to the realization that I was so much more than a musical theatre performer. I discovered my love for voice acting, fiction book writing, and creating my own music. I feel connected to the title of “artist” and embrace a well-rounded approach to artistic projects.

But just who am I as a performer? Good question. In the musical theatre realm, I would describe myself as a dynamic belter and character actor—strong and quirky, bold and bright. Standing at a towering 5’3”, I’m a spunky gal who packs a punch and isn’t afraid to trust my comedic authenticity. I’ve been described as vibrant and warm onstage—your quirky leading lady, sassy best friend, or sexy villain. I bring wisdom beyond my years with just a touch of cool aunt/grandma energy.

In the TV/film world, I’m your 20-something comedic relief. I fit in the world of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Girls, Fleabag, Insecure, Abbott Elementary, and Overcompensating. I thrive in characters who are a little offbeat, deeply human, and unafraid to say the awkward thing out loud. Think chaotic best friend energy, lovable mess, or the slightly-too-honest woman who steals the scene with heart and humor.

If you’re looking for your next Elphaba in Wicked, your next Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, or your next Queen in Six, I’m your girl. I also have a deep love for Stephen Sondheim’s work and fit right into any of his shows, especially Dot in SITPWG or Mary in Merrily We Roll Along. Some of my biggest acting inspirations are Barbra Streisand, Bernadette Peters, and Meryl Streep.

When I’m not performing, you can find me taking or teaching a yoga class, going on long nature walks by a body of water, reading a book, journaling, meditating, working on my book, TV show writing, and podcast, going to a fun gluten-free restaurant, or making yet another cup of coffee.

I believe in the power of theatre not just to entertain, but to create empathy and deepen our collective understanding. I am committed to continuing my education on social and political issues and to treating all people with love, kindness, and respect. I am a mindfulness practitioner and yogi, and I live my life guided by the Eight Limbs of Yoga and the Buddhist Eightfold Path (Right View, Intention, Speech, Action, Livelihood, Effort, Mindfulness, and Concentration). These principles help me cultivate a compassionate, ethical, peaceful, joyful, and loving life—onstage and off.
